Lap Swim

The Rookery Aquatic Center features an indoor 6-lane, 25-yard lap pool with an ADA accessible chair lift. The pool is used for a variety of activities including lap swimming, open swim, family swim, mixed usage, aquatic fitness classes, swim lessons, and facility rentals. 

In the lap pool, a designated number of lanes are dedicated for lap swimming. During this time 1-lane may be available for water walking or independent low-impact water workouts. 

Lap Swim Rules

  • Lap swim for 18+; Swimmers 12-17yrs must be able to swim 200+ yards continuously and may only swim when a lifeguard is present
  • Shower before entering
  • Split lane for 1-2 swimmers
  • Circle swim for 3+ swimmers

*Please note:

  • At least one lane will be open for lap swim at all times
  • The pool and sauna close one hour prior to the facility closing

Swim Test Policy

At the Rookery, the safety and well being of our members and guests is our top priority. This is why we have a swim test and wristband policy that addresses age and swimming ability to ensure all children are adequately supervised and accompanied while swimming.

Swimmers ages 11-14 are expected to receive their green wristband at Guest Services Desk during check in.

Swimmers age 4-10 must remain in the Splash Pool with an Adult unless they have passed the green wristband swim test:

  1. Jump into Lap Pool
  2. Swim 25yds
  3. Exit pool without steps/ladder
  4. Jump in
  5. Tread water for 60 seconds
  6. Front float 10 seconds
  7. Roll onto back, float independently 10 seconds
