Snowmobile Safety

Officers with the Lino Lakes Public Safety Department will be conducting a DNR Youth Snowmobile Certification class. The class is being offered to youth ages 11 to 15 (certification becomes valid at age 12). This training class is an introductory class designed for the snowmobile rider with little or no experience in snowmobile operation.

The certification class takes place over the course of two days. The class includes one introductory classroom session with a requirement to do some online training at home, and one additional day for the riding test. The first class will be held Thursday, December 5th, 2019 from 6 pm to 7 pm at the Lino Lakes Public Safety Department (640 Town Center Parkway, Lino Lakes, MN 55014). During this class, the instructors will distribute the materials, discuss the course outline and answer related questions. Parents are encouraged to attend.

The riding test will be on Saturday, December 21st, 2018 from 8 am to noon on Centerville Lake. This date is tentative based upon snow and ice conditions and can be rescheduled if necessary.

There is a $30 class fee for online materials and a $5 processing fee required by the Minnesota DNR. For additional information regarding the class, or to sign-up, please contact the Lino Lakes Police Department at 651-982-2323.
